Santorini - Greece

This was the place Yumi was looking forward to the most and I think she was a little disappointed with how she planned the day.

We took a ferry from the dock below Fira up to Oia and planned to make our way back to the main town of Fira by bus later.  We should have stayed in Oia!

Oia is beyond description and I do not know if it was because we were there early in the day but it seemed not as crowded as Fira was when we got there later. Fira was not enjoyable at all for me and I could not wait to leave.

To get back down to the dock you need to either take the cable car, get a ride on a donkey or walk.  We were going to do the cable car but a line so long we could not believe and a deadline to be at the dock for the boat meant we walked.  Neither of us were getting on a donkey.  Mama mia indeed........the photos will explain better.

The bus trip from Oia to Fira showed us the back of the island that is used for farming.

Walking into Fira, it is about to get very crowded and hot.

Down past the shopping it gets a bit quieter and you have a view.
