Back at the bench

Sunrise in the bush during my camping break.

After a very relaxing week off, despite nothing much going to plan, I am back at the work bench. I thought I would share with you two rings that I delivered the day before I headed away on holidays.

Ring 1 - the engagement ring

1.04ct F colour, VVs2 clarity main diamond. 18ct Palladium white gold.

For this ring I was presented with an image of a desired design. One aspect of this design that I really like is the square cushion shape halo.

We fine tuned the following in her version of the ring to achieve the desired look for her finger and hand size:

  1. main diamond size

  2. all the diamonds colour and clarity grades

  3. halo diamond size

  4. band width and diamond size

Ring 2 - the wedding ring

The band diamond span of the wedding and engagements ring matching.

As we designed the engagement ring we also planned for the wedding ring. It was important to determine the size of diamonds she desired in the wedding ring so that we could allow enough room for the wedding ring to sit under the halo of the engagement ring.

The base of the engagement ring halo designed to allow for the desire diamond set wedder.

The wider gems are the more depth they have. So the wedding ring had to have enough thickness to accomodate the depth of the diamonds. That extra thickness means that we have to leave enough room under the halo for the engagement ring to pass through.

Have a great weekend and I will leave you with some photos taken on my break of a Rainbow Bee Eater feeding around my tent.
