A customer's vision
17th October 2026
He liked the band……
….but not so much the main diamond.
A customer came to me with a desire to fuse two designs together. He liked the ring above but wanted to change the main diamond feature.
He liked the diamond halo…….
…..but not so much the band
He wanted to take the halo from this ring and place it into the band from the previous ring. He did not want to change the band much, just scale the halo to suit.
Getting the size of the halo just right.
We spent a lot of time playing around with the size of the halo and the main gem inside it. It was also decided to do away with the small plain gold sections in the band. The top of the band would be totally filled with diamonds up to the halo.
The side profile of the ring.
With the top view of the ring confirmed we would now work on the side profile. The customer wanted the ring to be as low as possible. To soften the side view of the setting a double rail style was used.
The finished ring.
The ring was created using 18ct yellow gold for the band and 18ct palladium white gold for the setting. The main diamond is a GIA lab certified .70 carat F colour - Vs2 clarity round brilliant cut diamond. The total diamond weight of the ring was 1.35 carats.
The next ring I will share with you will be one I made for his daughter out of some scrap gold. Took me a while to source the gem for that but the ring turned out great.
