Weddings and more weddings

A ring I made in January 2022.

I am making a lot of wedding rings at the moment as couples catch up for lost time during the pandemic. The first thing I am a big fan of with wedding rings is planning for them as much as you can at the time you make the engagement ring. My Proposal ring process allows for this.

You may remember this ring that I made back at the start of 2022. The wedding is fast approaching so it was time to put the planning we did back then into action.

Comparing different diamond sizes.

At the time we made the engagement ring we had a rough idea of the style and maximum size diamonds in the desired design which was a straight claw set diamond wedder.

When gems are involved in the wedding ring knowing the intended size is important. As gems get larger they get deeper and therefore sit higher off the finger which can cause issues when sitting the wedding ring next to the engagement ring.

She initially thought she would like finer diamonds in the band but after exploring options with images it was decided to go the size above.

With the top view decided we moved onto the side profile. I gave her 3 options to start with but she really liked the one on the left so a quick decision was made and that is how we made the ring.

18ct rose gold, total diamond weight .30 carats.

The second thing I am a big advocate of with wedding rings is that they should not overshadow/compete with the engagement ring. Often less is more with a wedding ring.

Unfortunately I did not get a chance to take photos of the two ring together but will try to do that when the rings come in for their next check up. I will add that photo to this post then.

I have a very nice engagement ring that is having me work all this weekend to finish and will share that with you perhaps in the next post.

Scalloped shared prong setting.
