One of the few good things to come out of lockdown

16th April 2021

.50 carat main diamond. 18ct Palladium white gold.

I specialise in custom making jewellery. Thankfully we all have different taste and whilst I help guide customers in the process I try not to project mine onto their jewellery.

During lockdown however to fill my vacant time I created pieces that I wanted to make. I made them for fun and then melted them down.

Article: Make and melt piece #3

I really enjoyed making them but melting them was a little sad and some told me that I should make that type of jewellery for sale.

Whilst I have little free time now (thank fully :) I am going to force myself to make the time to create pieces that I want to make and put them into stock.

Making them was just so enjoyable and as you will see from the pieces as they go onto the website, I like antique jewellery.

I find the old style pieces push my bench skills more than contemporary design. If they do not sell then I can always melt them down later anyway :)

The ring above is the first piece and I made it this week. It will go up in the shop section (which is pretty empty at the moment) of the website soon.

Above is one of the really fun pieces that I made during lockdown that I enjoyed melting as much as making!

I have some very interesting custom pieces being made for customers at the moment that I will share soon. Have a great weekend.
