Attie Creek Falls - Girramay Country - Cardwell State Forest

24th May 2026

Attie Creek Falls way back in September 2021.

A bit under 5 years ago I visited Attie Creek Falls for the first time and the falls were dry. I promised myself I would return and it took me until the past week to do so.

Part of the 150 metre walk from the carpark to the falls.

It is a short but steep walk from the carpark to the falls and the track is well maintained. Anyone who can walk with an average level of fitness should be able to manage it.

Approaching the waterfall, May 2026.

As I approached the waterfall on this recent visit I could hear and soon see that the water was flowing. Not a great deal of water but I had a bit of cloud cover diffusing the light and the colours were popping from the water, trees and rocks.

The base of the falls was stunning! A bit too cold for a swim but truly beautiful. Well worth the 5 year wait and I will visit again.

Some cut trees on the path to the falls that for some reason always catch my attention.
