Remarkable Rocks, Kangaroo Island, South Australia.

Remarkable Rocks, Kangaroo Island, South Australia.
When I first saw Remarkable Rocks I thought it looked like a giant had been playing knuckles with these huge rocks on this point along the Kangaroo Island coast. I saw some clouds in the sky and thought I might be in for some lovely diffused soft light for photos….sadly it only got clearer.
Remarkable Rocks clearly visible from a distance along the coast.
The presence of the rocks is clearly visible from a long way further down the coast line. You just have to wonder what natural event formed these stunning shapes?
My brother standing in a section of the rocks.
As was the case for most of my month of travels I got very blue skies and harsh light for photos. Some of the rocks also have caves under them that you can walk into.
Inside one of the caves under the rocks.
Was it water, wind or both that formed the patterns and shapes in these rocks? If you know share the knowledge!
The ceiling of the cave.
Having no shame and knowing that I would more than likely never see any of the people at this busy spot again, I was soon lying on my back on the ground taking photos of the caves ceiling. Isn’t that a cool view? Looks like a piece of rocky road chocolate
Dead or not dead?
As we left I was once again on this trip fascinated by how vegetation could grow on such rocky and harsh terrain. I also wondered….is that plant dead or just deciduous? Again, if you know please share!
