Zenadth Kes totem ring with shark totem on one shoulder.

In most of my posts to the website I note at the top the location of the customer. So many of them are well and truly outside of Cairns and the two rings I am gong to share with you really highlight that.

Keeping a promise and the last of a kind

Five years ago I started making totem pieces for a Zenadth Kes (Torres Strait Islander) family to mark each child’s 21st birthday as they arrived. The above photo is of the original ring from back in 2017 and the last/fourth ring is the same design. Some of the others were different.

I stopped making these totem rings in silver a while ago but kept a promise to this family that I would make one for each child. The Dhari/Dhoeri and Star of the flag are the centre symbol with the family snake and shark totems on the shoulders.

Heading South

Classic half carat six claw solitaire.

A solitaire engagement ring very similar to the one above went down to customers in South Australia this week. It might seem odd to have a ring like this custom made but these are the choices the customer was able to make by doing so:

  • the exact quality diamond they wanted to suit their budget

  • select the perfect finger size using custom made sizers for this design posted to her

Scalloped white gold basket.

Long before COVID and the increase in remote work that came with it, I have had a system that allows me to service my distant customers as if they were able to visit me in my office.

If it were not for those that have trusted myself and that system I doubt I would still be in business. So a big thank you to all of you from many miles away.
