Travelling jewellery - and the NAIDOC competition winner
12th July 2021
So much of my business is done remotely and has been for well over 15 years. With COVID that has meant that I have been fortunate to already have in place a system to service customers despite not being able to physically meet. Below are some of the pieces from this month that have travelled off my bench to their owners around Australia..
Thurgoona, New South Wales.
This customer has just ordered an additional 950 Platinum ring to mirror the other side of her engagement ring.
Breakfast Point, New South Wales
This is the third ring I have made for this NSW customer. I love the Aquamarine that he chose. The 1.50 carat emerald cut gem is set in 18ct Palladium white gold with .14 carats of shoulder diamonds.
Mareeba, Queensland
Not so far away this customer, just up the road a little. Once again a repeat customer who loves quite large gemstones and rose gold. This is the second ring I have created for her. The gem in this ring is a 4.29 carat Topaz.
Narangba, Queensland
When I initially made the engagement ring shown in the second photo these customers lived in Cairns. They now live down south but I am very fortunate that they continue to allow me to make jewellery for them. I recently made this mirror ring to match an existing in her bridal set.
I would like to thank all of my customers throughout the country. A special thanks to those in Tropical North Queensland that voted once again this year to make me a finalist in the Brides Choice Awards.
NAIDOC week competition winner
The winner of the competition is Mooki Pen in Meanjin (Brisbane). That means that like a lot of my jewellery the 3.5cm gold Warup will travelling out of Cairns. Thanks again to those that entered and especially the entrants that sent me recipes.
As I mentioned I have other projects within the First Nations communities that I want to work on so this will be the last year I hold the competition. It has been a lot of fun over the past years and a very big thank you for all that you have and continue to teach me. Koeyma eso!
